Lawrence has almost nothing. No money, barely enough food, and only a fragile cardboard home to shelter his daughter, Olivia. But even when everything around them feels hopeless, Olivia still believes in her dad.
When she shares part of her last piece of food with him, Lawrence realizes just how much her faith in him means. He may have nothing to give her today, but he makes her one promise: things will get better.
Then Lawrence catches a glimpse of a completely different world.
Across the street, Rex and his son Sterling live surrounded by wealth — a mansion, luxury cars and more food than Lawrence and Olivia could imagine. The contrast between their lives becomes impossible to ignore.
When Lawrence watches perfectly good food being thrown away while Olivia goes hungry, something inside him begins to change.
His wallet is still empty. His home is still made of cardboard. Nothing about his circumstances has changed yet.
But Lawrence still has one thing left — a promise to his daughter.
